We are Valérie and Annie-Claude, nice to meet you! Together, we founded the Guimond-Auger Clinic and bring over 30 years of combined expertise in mental health care. Our mission is to guide you on your journey toward better mental well-being by combining advanced clinical expertise with a warm, compassionate approach.
Annie-Claude Auger
M.Sc., MNHP.
Education
Graduated from University of Montreal in 2003 with a degree in Nursing Science, Annie-Claude Auger also holds a graduate diploma and a master's degree as a nurse practitioner specialized in mental health.
Experience
She had a very diverse medical background in her early years. From 2014 to 2021, she held the role of National Head of Continuing Medical Education in Neurosciences. During this role, she had the opportunity to manage the development of training programs with national and international scientific committees in psychiatry. It was during this period that she developed a specialization in the assessment and management of ADHD.
Approach and commitment
In 2022, she became a speaker on mental health at national conferences as well as within groups of healthcare professionals.
Valérie Guimond
M.Sc., MNHP.
Education
Valérie Guimond graduated from the Nursing Science program at the University of Montreal in 2013. From the beginning of her professional journey, she developed a strong interest in mental health. She then decided to continue her academic path by completing a graduate program in mental health and psychiatry at the University of Quebec, followed by completing the nurse practitioner program specialized in mental health (IPSSM). She then graduated among the top ten IPSSM in Quebec in 2019.
Experience
Professionally, Valérie has mainly worked in mental health care environments and directly with clients. She has developed significant experience with adult clients suffering from a variety of problems in working in an outpatient psychiatric clinic for several years and then in a detention facility. She has been practicing in the private sector since January 2020.
Approach and commitment
Valérie wants to support her patients in their recovery process to help them overcome their suffering. She developed an expertise with people with burnout, personality disorders, anxiety and depressive disorders.
Mylène Ouellette
Education
Mylène practices using an integrative humanistic approach that focuses on the individual and their specific needs. Her approach also incorporates interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy. Mylène Ouellette has held a psychotherapy permit from the Order of Psychologists since 2021 and is a member of the Order of Psychoeducators of Quebec; she holds a master’s degree in psychoeducation from the Université du Québec en Outaouais (2014).
Experience
Working in telepsychology, she draws upon each individual’s natural tendency toward growth and self-actualization, grounding her approach in values such as the therapeutic alliance, acceptance, self-compassion, and self-understanding. She brings over twelve years of clinical and service coordination experience within the public health and social services system, working with individuals facing mental health issues, those at risk of suicide, and those bereaved by suicide.
Approach and commitment
She works with adults facing various challenges, including anxiety or depressive symptoms, personality disorders, relationship issues, concerns regarding substance use or eating habits, self-confidence or identity issues, suicidal ideation, and grief. She also supports individuals navigating difficult life situations—such as separation, marital problems, or work leave—or dealing with recurring behavioral patterns that cause distress. She offers psychotherapy services exclusively via remote teleconsultation.
Ivan Djapa Teguia
M.Sc., MNHP.
Education
Ivan first obtained a nursing degree in France. Driven by a strong interest in mental health, he continued his academic journey in Quebec by completing a master’s degree as a specialized nurse practitioner in mental health (IPSSM) at the Université du Québec à Rimouski, Lévis campus.
Experience
Ivan has over ten years of experience dedicated exclusively to mental health, working directly with adult clients. His extensive and varied background within the public health system has equipped him to address a wide range of issues, enabling him to confidently assist clients with diverse needs. He conducts comprehensive, structured assessments, establishes diagnoses, and provides pharmacological and psychosocial follow-up, all while adhering to recognized guidelines (CANMAT, INESSS).
Approach and commitment
Ivan aims to support his patients in their recovery process through a holistic, strengths-based, and advocacy-oriented approach, ensuring everyone feels heard and supported without judgment. He has developed expertise in managing anxiety disorders and depressive episodes and is actively involved in various projects that promote the visibility and impact of the IPSSM profession.
Patricia Beaulac
M.Sc., MNHP.
Education
Patricia Beaulac began her practice as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (IPS-SM) specializing in addiction psychiatry at the CHUM in 2019, following the completion of her master’s degree at the Université de Montréal. She subsequently expanded her practice to the CIUSSS de l’Estrie, working at the Granby Addiction Rehabilitation Centre, the Adult Mental Health Access Service, the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic, and the Sherbrooke Nurse Practitioner Clinic. Patricia also teaches at the Université de Montréal and the Université de Sherbrooke, in addition to giving various presentations to her peers.
Experience
After beginning her career in 2007 as a critical care nurse—having graduated from Cégep Édouard-Montpetit—she pursued further studies at the Université de Sherbrooke to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, discovering a passion for mental health and addiction care. She then directed her career path toward the Montreal Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (Centre de réadaptation en dépendance de Montréal), a journey she further enriched by completing a master’s degree in addiction intervention at the same university.
Approach and commitment
Since 2009, Patricia has dedicated herself to supporting individuals facing various mental health challenges, issues, and disorders—with or without co-occurring substance use challenges, issues, or disorders (commonly involving alcohol and other drugs). She is recognized for her attentive listening and her empathetic, authentic, and personalized approach.
